Your idea is a great one, Adele! I believe we have a duty to model Dr. Stone's generosity in our own communities. The personal and academic growth I experienced while living at the Mary Ellen Thomas Pilot Scholarship House between 1992-93 made me a better person. Although I transferred to and graduated from Florida Southern College in 1995, I never forgot the lessons learned while trying to live in unity within a diverse group.
While I am far from my beloved native Florida here in Spokane, Washington, Southern Scholarship Foundation's exemplary investment will serve as a model for my graduate school Alma Mater, Whitworth University. Keep networking and building community where you live and your work will be blessed.
Hey There, If you're out there would love to hear from you! This is Adele from, mostly, the Bad**** house. Loved my experiences so much with SSF that I am now back in NY starting my own Scholar House Foundation modeling off of SSF. Would love to hear from you guys & gals again! Feel free to email me at adelearkin@yahoo.com. Best wishes, Adele
